Chapter 383: Even If Thunder Strikes, You Will Be the First to Die!
Once the mission began, most of the people began leaving in a hurry. There were only very few technicians who stayed where they were.
When Jian Qi saw Lightning and the others leaving, she turned around to look at Tang Jinyu. “Instructor Tang, what will we do now?”
“Protect me!” Tang Jinyu said as he looked at her.
Jian Qi raised her brows. “You… Are you being serious?”
“When have I not been serious?” Tang Jinyu asked coldly before handing her a set of earphones. “Put this on!”
Jian Qi pushed the tips into her ears.
“Follow me,” Tang Jinyu said.
Jian Qi remained quiet as she kept up with Tang Jinyu’s pace.
The remaining group of people got into their respective vehicles and began heading toward the target location.
Meanwhile, Jian Qi followed Tang Jinyu onto another car.
The car was spacious on the inside with various types of advanced digital screens. Meanwhile, technicians worked to identify the locations of each special agent. On top of that, there was a separate screen which displayed a group of unfamiliar mercenaries.
Jian Qi took a glance at the special agents’ locations on the screen.
As the thundering outside the car grew louder, the rain became heavier. Without a doubt, tonight’s mission had become significantly more difficult.
Very soon, they had arrived at the city. After locating a spot in a relatively sheltered corner, the cars came to a halt.
After the anti-terrorism team’s senior office had scanned through the digital screens to see where each special agent was located, he picked up the intercom handle. “Is everyone in position?”
“In position.” Voices could be heard from the intercom in succession.
Just as someone was getting ready to give orders to act, the group of mercenaries on the other screen seemed to have begun moving. One of the men was looking at the screen directly.
Clearly, he had discovered the camera!
The last thing seen was the man extending his hand toward the camera. Soon after, the entire screen turned black.
The facial expression on everyone’s faces in the car changed.
Meanwhile, the man holding the intercom handle seemed equally disturbed. “Our undercover agents will very soon be discovered. Make a move right now, everyone! Ensure the safety of our undercover agents!”
As soon as the man finished speaking, he put the intercom handle down and walked up to Tang Jinyu. “Mr. Tang, we’re counting on you now!”
Tang Jinyu nodded calmly before turning to look at Jian Qi. “Let’s go.”
Jian Qi followed him.
It was raining heavily outside as Jian Qi moved to keep up with Tang Jinyu. “Instructor Tang, it looks like we are fated to walk together in the rain.” She chuckled.
After Tang Jinyu turned to look at her for a moment, he felt amused that she was still able to joke around at such a time.
Tang Jinyu then retracted his gaze and began to walk faster.
Jian Qi calmly followed him.
Very soon, the two located a tall building nearby and quickly made their way to the roof.
“How’s your left hand now?” Tang Jinyu looked down at Jian Qi’s left arm.
“Do you want to touch it?” Jian Qi lifted her hand and flirted calmly.
Tang Jinyu. “…”
“Didn’t you always want to become a sniper? You get to be one today. I’ll be your observer!” Tang Jinyu said.
“Wouldn’t your talent go to waste?” Jian Qi smiled.
“Stop saying nonsense. Get ready, quickly!” Tang Jinyu warned coldly.
With a smile, Jian Qi hurriedly set the rifle in place and lay down on the ground.
Meanwhile, Tang Jinyu also quickly lay down on the ground next to her.
With flashes of lightning and the heavy downpour, the rain seemed to be getting heavier. It did not seem like the rain would stop anytime soon.
Jian Qi laughed. “Instructor Tang, do you think we might get struck by lightning and die before the enemies even appear?”
“Don’t worry. Even if thunder strikes, you will be the first to die!” Tang Jinyu said coldly.
Jian Qi. “…”
