Fatal Shot - Chapter 447
Chapter 447: Sulli is Infected!
“Something dropped.” Onishi’s gaze scanned past the corpse of the Tyrant T-100.
After the Tyrant T-100 died, five glowing items appeared on the ground.
One submachine gun magazine, a pair of Light Armor Warrior combat boots, a pair of Heavy Armor Warrior bracers, and two items that looked like equipment parts.
Apart from those items, there was nothing else; no energy crystals or T-virus potions that normal infected monsters always dropped.
“The dropped items must be dropped according to the profession. The smaller equipment parts are a sniper rifle part and something used on mechas,” said Feng Luo after glancing at the battle loot.
Five items, one for each agent.
Since the attributes and stats of the items had not been appraised, Feng Luo only made a guess with regard to the attributes and uses of the last metallic object. However, he shouldn’t be off by too much.
“I’ll be taking the magazine.” Onishi nodded and picked up the submachine gun magazine. “Also, thank you for the bullets and magazines earlier.”
He threw the Eye of the Thunder magazines back to Feng Luo. Initially, to deal with the situation at hand, Feng Luo threw the heavy impact bullets and Frost Bullets magazines, both B-grade ammunition to Onishi. During the battle, Onishi only used one type.
Only three of the original ten Frost Bullets were left, and three of the five Heavy Impact Bullets were left.
After her talent activated, Phoenix, who had a dark personality now, did not care about the items on the ground, and did not stay in place.
With a blank expression, she walked past the Tyrant T-100’s corpse and moved to the last tunnel door with her sword in hand.
“I’ll help them keep these first.” Feng Luo shook his head and put the items in his inventory.
Although time was of the essence, the loot dropped by the Tyrant T-100 was still something that most people would be expectant of.
“The door is locked!” Onishi had reached the side of the door after following behind Phoenix’s footsteps, discovering that the door was not unlocked.
“I can’t open that door, and I can’t control it either.” Digital Cat’s voice came from the comms channel.
It definitely could not be opened, as a straight portion of the door had become distorted, causing the door to be stuck and unable to move. The smooth surface of the alloy door also had a couple of finger marks engraved deep upon it. There was only one person who could do this in the vicinity of the door.
“What should we do?” Onishi said as his eyebrows furrowed.
The intelligent door was not fixed by a few door parts. Even sniper bullets might not be able to destroy the locks of the door.
“Slam!”
Without speaking, Phoenix’s right hand had already swung her sword at the door. The sharp Level 45 Rare Grade alloy sword cut open the door in an instant.
“Ugh…” Onishi could only force a smile.
There was a simple method like this, and he did not think of it. Perhaps it was because he always thought from his perspective. After all, with a Scout’s explosive power, moving or doing anything to the distorted door that was even engraved into the wall, was incredibly difficult.
…
“Boom!”
In less than seven seconds, the five inches thick alloy door fell on the ground in front of Phoenix.
The situation in the room unfolded clearly before the three of them.
A white empty space, just like a sealed-off prison cell, lay in front of them. A simple bed sat in the middle of the room while seven year old a brown-haired girl was sleeping soundly on the bed, her two thin and tiny hands held tightly onto a white teddy bear.
“No… She’s not asleep… Something does not seem right.” Onishi’s face stiffened after looking at her.
The little girl was not sleeping, with the fierce battles that were going on just outside the room. In addition, there were also loud noises when Phoenix’s alloy sword slashed at the door.
No matter how deep in slumber the little girl was in, she should have awoken by now.
However, the little girl was not awake, and there was clearly another reason.
Observing in more detail, they could see that the little girl was actually crouched on the bed, and was lying right beside the wall, and her body was constantly shivering. At the same time, beads of sweat filled her forehead, making her brown hair completely wet and stuck to her pale face.
“This looks like… She seems to be sick.” Onishi said suspiciously.
“No, it looks like she has been infected by the virus.” Phoenix, who had been quiet up until now, said with a solemn expression. She extended a hand and took off her left glove before placing her left hand on Sulli’s sweating forehead.
“Body temperature, 42.5 degrees Celsius. Heart rate, 180 per minute…” Phoenix said, reporting very accurate numbers.
“Infected? No way.” Onishi looked very solemn.
The situation was very unexpected. Roaring Dragon Mercenary Group treated the little girl very importantly, to the extent where they placed her in such a tightly secure location. There was no way she could be infected by the T-virus.
More importantly, if she were infected by the T-virus, what would happen to their mission? Exchange and use an anti-virus serum? Would this be effective on NPCs?
“Infected by the virus…” Feng Luo was slightly dumbfounded after hearing Phoenix’s words.
He did not find Sulli being infected by the virus as weird, he remembered in the game, Resident Evil, Sulli Parkins was infected by the G-virus, as it was injected by her father, William.
The protagonist of the game found an anti-virus serum later in the game and helped cure the G-virus. However, due to her unique body characteristics, residual G-virus remained in her body. In the end, she obtained an amazing and powerful transformation ability.
No matter how severe her injury, even fatal injuries, she could completely recover. The ability was quite similar to his Self-healing Force ability.
Even though the little girl was infected by the virus, she should not die immediately.
When it came to the G-virus in Resident Evil, the potion seemed to be hidden in the necklace that was hanging on the little girl’s neck.
Feng Luo looked toward the little girl’s neck and found that, as expected, a golden necklace hung at her neck with a 3D animated picture on it.
A handsome man and a beautiful lady, a young couple, were holding a cute and pale little girl joyously in the picture. They smiled at the camera and seemed to be very proud.
When Feng Luo glanced down a little, he noticed another detail. The little girl was tightly holding onto a white teddy bear. The teddy bear seemed to have been thrown on the ground before, as the side of the teddy bear facing towards the girl’s body had dust on it, and as the dust seemed to have been exposed to tears, as that part of the teddy bear had become dirty.
An image of the little girl holding her beloved teddy bear crying appeared in Feng Luo’s mind.
At that moment, the sweaty little girl who was shaking uncontrollably and was curled up in the corner suddenly mumbled something from her pale lips while in a state of unconscious due to the infection, “Daddy… Sulli… won’t cry.”
Although when she spoke, tears seemed to roll from her closed eyes, seemingly due to the pain she was suffering, to the white teddy bear, making it wet again.
