Phoenix Destiny - Chapter 306
Chapter 306: Take Action
5 a.m.
Everyone was woken up. In the midst of the confusion, the Drug Lord started to count heads.
6 a.m.
Everyone was driven out, and the stone door slowly rolled down.
Xie Lianzhen dusted his clothes and plopped down at the side. He turned to the rest and glared at them. “What are you guys standing there for? The Drug Lord going into seclusion doesn’t equal a break.”
“…” The drug men stared at each other weirdly. This kiddo was driving them crazy. Does he actually mean that or…?
“What about you then?” Lu Mingshu furrowed her eyebrows.
“I’m waiting for the Drug Lord’s instructions! Are you deaf? Didn’t you hear our conversation yesterday?” Xie Lianzhen beamed at her. “Am I right, brothers?” He turned to the guards.
The guards exchanged glances and remained silent. They had witnessed the Drug Lord agreeing to Xie Lianzhen’s request yesterday.
Lu Mingshu threw him a dirty look before walking off. “Is that so? Come on, let’s go.”
The drug men exchanged glances with each other before following after Lu Mingshu.
As soon as she walked away, the angry Lu Mingshu was replaced with one deep in thought.
Ah, right. It’s time.
Lu Mingshu walked all the way to the end of the field with the others following. She suddenly came to a stop and took a glance at the guards who were currently far away from her. “Why are you following after me? Didn’t I assign you your own parts earlier?” she asked sternly. Lu Mingshu glanced around herself before whispering, “Listen, I’ll send a signal later on. Act immediately when you see green smoke.”
The uncle was unable to contain his excitement. “Of course! Idiot girl, can we really do this?”
“Why are you so annoying!? Just follow what Gentleman Xie said! Is it that hard?” Lu Mingshu stared at him and shouted, cutting him off. “Remember the timing. Nothing must go wrong, get it?” she added on, whispering.
“Girl, you can be at ease,” the grandma said softly. “We’ve been here for such a long time, and we are even more desperate than you to get out of here.”
“Right!” Old Man Liao nodded, determined. “Even if I die, it’ll be outside.”
The rest nodded in agreement.
“Alright, get moving.”
All five turned around and went to their respective areas. Some were stumbling, while some were walking slowly since they had a bad sight, but even so, they were all determined to succeed.
Finally. They had waited for dozens of years, and now, it was their chance. Why would they not seize it?
Looking at the figures getting smaller, Lu Mingshu regained her focus and started to concentrate on what she was supposed to do.
The wizard told her that the spell’s crucial point would definitely be in the cave, so it was impossible for her to destroy it directly. Since that was the case, she would have to use another method, which was to create a new crucial point herself.
But this wasn’t a simple task; it required the perfect calculation to be able to change the trend of the spell toward her new crucial point. This made the task a difficult one since it was very tedious. So, in order to ensure success, Lu Mingshu could only do it on her own.
Lu Mingshu took a deep breath and did what she normally did: patrol around the farm, removing any weeds she saw and loosening the earth.
At the start, the guards still had their eyes on her. As she got further from them, they started to turn a blind eye to her.
As soon as Lu Mingshu was sure that she was no longer in the guard’s line of sight, she immediately got to work.
She placed the items on the ground and threw them to in various places according to the plan. Lu Mingshu then mixed a special type of ink at the speed of lighting and drew it on a paper.
“Hey, what are you doing?!” somebody yelled at her.
Lu Mingshu turned around in shock to see two guards walking toward her.
She broke out in cold sweat.
What rotten luck. This was initially somewhere where the guards change over, and it was a dead end. They never came down this route the previous days, so why did they do so today?
Whatever, I must ensure that nothing goes wrong.
Lu Mingshu stared at them coldly, then pulled out her sword and went up against them.
“You-!”
The guard only managed to say one word before he ended up in the underworld.
Seeing his fellow partner killed right in front of him, the other guard immediately held up his whistle to alert the rest.
But before he could do so, his hand that held up the whistle was sent flying away, and blood was everywhere.
Before the guard could howl in pain, Lunar God had already greeted his neck.
Now, he joined his fellow partner down in the underworld.
Lu Mingshu broke out in cold sweat. She only realized what just happened after some time, and she wiped the sweat away, heaving a deep sigh.
What just happened was breathtaking. Even though the guards weren’t that good, they were still in the Harmonization Realm, and they even had items on them to alert their comrades. But for Lu Mingshu, she didn’t even have her mystic force because of the spell. All she had were her skills.
Luckily, she constantly practised and refined her skills, so she could exhibit her skills well without fear and got rid of the guards in no time.
Just then, she felt a wave of motion slightly vibrating all of a sudden.
“Oh no!” she yelled.
The Drug Lord would surely be able to sense the unusual change when she killed the guards.
Do we have to give up just like that?
This thought flashed past Lu Mingshu’s mind, and she made a decision immediately on the spot.
No! I can’t give up. If the Drug Lord discovers this plan, not only will I be punished, there would no longer be another chance for us. Either I succeed and we get out of here, or we never get to see the light of day anymore!
However, time was ticking quickly, and there wasn’t enough time left to finish the sketch by the wizard.
Lu Mingshu took it out and scanned it quickly.
Since I’m unable to finish it completely, then a simplified version will do.
She made a calculation in her mind with great speed and started to set it up.
Thanks to the Drug Lord’s previous experiments, she was now able to calculate and act faster.
From afar, a siren sounded. This was the signal to alert the guards that something had happened.
Urgent and disordered footsteps with non-stop yelling could be heard. This was how the guards here started their search.
Lu Mingshu glanced over at the guards who were creating chaos right now and went back to what she was doing.
The footsteps were getting closer and closer to Lu Mingshu.
She scribbled the last word quickly and fished out an item from her sleeve, throwing it up to the sky.
A green flare shot up to the sky.
Lu Mingshu stood there, watching the smoke disperse in the air.
Hopefully, all five of them have succeeded.
Not long later, the spell seemed to have some changes to it.
First: she felt the energy waves disperse.
Second: a deep hum.
Third: a beam of light appeared across the horizon like a rainbow.
Fourth: a muffled boom.
Fifth: in an instant, she felt that her body had become extremely light, as if her weight disappeared. The array below her started to light up like it had gained life.
Lu Mingshu looked up at the sky to see lights shooting up from everywhere, then converging to a point, before falling down.
The guards stood rooted to the ground by the situation. Within no time, they found Lu Mingshu standing on the array figure.
“Look, there!”
“Faster, take her down!”
Lu Mingshu felt mystic force surging through her body. Lunar God looked clean and lustrous.
Lu Mingshu gripped her sword and dashed toward the guards with a smirk on her face.
I couldn’t do anything previously because I did not have mystic force. Now, you guys are just rubbish in my eyes.
The sword light shot forward like lighting straight for the guards
