Venerated Venomous Consort - Chapter 2921
Chapter 2921 The Wedding 7
Although his robe looked simple, it was a bit troublesome to wear. This was especially true for the belt, as she needed to buckle it around his waist.
“Your belt is abnormal!”
Di Fuyi smiled. “I have always wanted to be unique, so the belt is naturally an extraordinary one.” Then, he raised his arms and waited for her to buckle his belt.
Gu Xijiu stared at his back for a moment and was caught in a daze. She did not know why, but she suddenly recalled his uncovered back that she had just inadvertently seen. Her heart seemed to have skipped half a beat, but just then, she quickly circled his around his waist and buckled his belt.
As she was standing very close to him, she could smell that his body exuded a unique fragrance. Furthermore, when she wrapped her hands around him to put on his belt, she could feel his fine and smooth muscle lines. Her heart had subconsciously skipped half a beat all of a sudden.
Despite these strange feelings, she felt that her heart seemed to have a very powerful regulating function that could counter all the sudden changes. It only took a split second for things to return to normal for her.
Di Fuyi had quietly closed his eyes slightly to try to sense any irregularities in her heartbeat. From his observations, her heart was loud and clear, but there was no sign of it beating irregularly. His fingers clenched slightly in his sleeves at the discovery, and once again, he felt extremely disappointed. She was indifferent to his charm and appeal! Was her heart made of iron? Was the God of Creation born with no desire for lust? Was she only allowed to be ruthless?
He felt helpless as if he were flirting with a blind man. Perhaps, all of his efforts were going to be wasted. For the first time in his life, he had the thought of giving up.
While occupied in his thoughts, Di Fuyi failed to realize five delicate fingers were waving in front of him. “Hello?!”
He quickly regained his focus and gave his undivided attention to the person in front of him. But when he looked at her, his heart seemed to be one pumping irregularly.
Anyway, she had put on his wedding attire as agreed, so he grasped her hand and pulled her away. “Let’s go! Otherwise, we will be late!”
Gu Xijiu was speechless. It was him who had delayed them in the first place, but now, he was the one rushing them! She subconsciously wanted to withdraw her hand from his grip, but he held her tightly and said something in a serious tone, “According to tradition, you should be the one who carries me to the car. Are you carrying me, or should I carry you?”
Gu Xijiu remained silent for a moment but finally agreed on a solution, “Let’s just hold hands.” Thus, the two of them appeared in front of the public, hand in hand.
The people outside had been waiting nervously, hoping that the grooms did not regret his recision and run away. They were so relieved to see that the couple emerged in such a loving fashion.
Before they arrived at the door of the sedan, Di Fuyi swiftly picked her up from the ground. Gu Xijiu was so shocked by his sudden move to the point where she subconsciously hugged his neck.
Amazed by the show, the people around could not help but scream and cheer for the lovely couple.
“It should be the groom who carries the bride into the sedan. However, as we are getting married in your house, the roles were reserved. Nevertheless, since you don’t want to carry me, it is appropriate for me to carry you. The rules can’t be abolished.” Di Fuyi sent her a directed audio and stopped her from struggling or attacking him.
One of the tips of her fingers was still pointing at a vital part of his neck. Obviously, this was her instinctive reaction to his sudden action. But when she finally heard his explanation, Gu Xijiu finally put her finger at ease. She could not help but wonder why there were so many rules! Nonetheless, she was not one who hated customs and traditions.
The team finally got back to work, and the flower girls in front of the vehicle were glittering flower petals along the open road. Behind them were guards and a drummer that was playing his instrument. The place was crowded and joyful, with people on both sides of the street smiling and cheering them on.
Gu Xijiu and Di Fuyi sat side by side in the car. There was only one row of seats in the sedan that could only fit two people. Although Gu Xijiu had touched him before, at the moment, she was sitting a bit too close to him for comfort and felt that it was inappropriate.
